This development is close to
London City Airport and is sandwiched between the Thames and Royal
Victoria Dock.
This development
was started in 1994 with 85 homes built by The Peabody Trust,
later 777 homes were built by Wimpey Homes. The Royal Victoria
Dock footbridge was added at a cost of £3.9m and the latest phase
will be the ambitious Silvertown Quays which will adjoin Britannia
Village. The development is close to Barrier Point park and has an open-space feel because of its dockside position.
A Britannia Village Community Pride Day was held on 30th August 2007.
